The Dalgety Group of companies was founded in 1993 in Georgetown Guyana. "Dalgety Agri Products", the first Guyana based operation, exported dried herbs in bulk to Europe and North America as well as Pineapples to the Tourist Islands of the Caribbean. In 1995 the company commissioned a factory in the UK - Dalgety Teas and Herbs - its aim to introduce Europe to the authentic stronger flavored herbal teas of the Caribbean. 2001 saw the formation of "Dalgety Caribbean Products". This subsidiary was formed to introduce gourmet Caribbean snacks and condiments.
